Mark Cerny, the system architect for the PlayStation 4 and principle director of the PS4 launch title Knack, has announced that he is working on a new title for the PS4 with his personal studio.
He described the unnamed title as “sort of an indie title” and one of several projects in an interview with Eurogamer today. He refused to specify any further details about the game, however.
"It's not really indie because it'll be fully funded," Cerny said. "But it'll be nice to be on a project where I know the name of everybody on it, as opposed to one of these largest triple-A titles that staffs hundreds. It's a very different experience. Also you get to try more concept-based work because it's smaller. That should be very exciting."
Cerny who worked on the PlayStation 4 system as a consultant, will be developing his new title with his California-based studio, Cerny Games. Despite its independence, the studio seems closely tied to Sony.
"Oh yeah. It's definitely for the [PS4] console,” Cerny said. "Cerny Games is not self-funding a title for some other platform.”
Cerny took the rest of the interview to explain his role on the development of the PS4.
