Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls’ upcoming 2.1.0 patch is not yet out on the main servers. 2.1.0, in case you’re not in the know, is the one that adds everything from Greater Rifts and Seasonal Legendaries to a host of balancing changes to the game’s classes, including tweaking it so that Monks receive armor from their dexterity stat instead of dodge chance.
The patch has been in development and in testing on Diablo 3’s PTR (Player Test Realm) servers for the sake of balancing it before it’s released out into the wild for mass consumption. And today, Blizzard has updated the 2.1.0 patch with even more numerous balancing changes, all of which have been documented on the game’s official blog in red text.
Among the changes included in the update are new skill runes for the game’s various classes, such as Polar Station for the Demon Hunter’s Sentry skill, and Radiance, for the Monk’s Dashing Strike skill. Furthermore, many other skills have had their elements changed.
In addition to the balance changes, Blizzard has finally added Legendary Gems into the mix. These unique items can only be dropped by Greater Rift Guardians, are account bound, and can only be socketed into Rings and Amulets. Legendary Gems can even be upgraded by a new NPC named Urshi, who grants ranks to these new items for better stats and abilities.
