Runic Games has revealed that Torchlight has breached the million copy barrier across all platforms after the XBLA Deal of the Week and Steam sale on July 4th.
The game sold 500,000 copies within the first six months of its release before being released on the Mac and subsequently on the XBLA.
"We're very excited to share Torchlight's success with our fans and supporters," said Travis Baldree. "It's been a great ride so far and we can't wait to give everyone more of what they want in Torchlight II.
"It isn't every day you sell a million copies. We're grateful to be here."
Runic Games is currently developing the PC-based multi-player sequel, Torchlight II, which was nominated for six awards at E3 2011, including Best RPG and Best of E3.
