Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies from Scarlet Moon Records is the kind of album you play for a group of friends who think videogames do nothing but make people uptight. P4S' stated mission is to help soothe you into a relaxed state, and it accomplishes that mission quite well.
The 10-track album was arranged by GENTLE LOVE, the duo of Norihiko Hibino on saxophone and AYAKI on piano. Hibino in particular is very notable — he is a prolific game composer whose credits include the Metal Gear Solid series, Zone of the Enders, Bayonetta, and The Wonderful 101. Together, the group has tackled many mellow tracks stretching all the way back to the Super Nintendo era. There's "Lifestream" from Final Fantasy VII, "Dire, Dire Docks" from Super Mario 64, "Auriel's Ascension" from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, "Aquatic Ambiance" from Donkey Kong Country, and more.
P4S is currently available on Loudr for $10. And if you'd like to check out more music from Scarlet Moon's catalog, hit up the website and give it a browse. There are some original soundtracks as well, such as the Saturday Morning RPG OST, co-composed by Vince DiCola of Rocky IV and The Transformers: The Movie fame.
