We have new information on a character in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. Solas is nothing like what we all expected him to be, based on the leaks from a few months ago.
While the title elven mage evokes images of old age and an obsession with creating and casting spells, Solas is an apostate, a Henry David Thoreau-like figure in a party filled with, to be quite honest, total reprobates, and possible basket cases.
Solas spent years living alone in the wilderness, mastering his magic and exploring the Fade on his own. Solas would have been happy to live his entire life alone in the wilderness, but he felt compelled to take action against the Breach.
Of course, if you remember the leak a while back (courtesy German gaming magazine Gamestar), it seemed then that Bioware failed to hide the existence of this new elfin mage, called Dorian, and he struck to be a more malevolent creature, thanks to a more than passing resemblance to Nosferatu’s Count Orlok (or for some of you younger readers, Voldermort). Of course, Dorian himself was recently revealed, and he is also atypical of popular RPG stereotypes (although neither are not entirely out of place in a D&D game world).
What once appeared to be one of your fiercest party members may turn out to be the softest of them all, especially in light of how tough as nails Cassandra and Sera turned out. So, how does the Inquisition look like to you now?
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be out for the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 on October 7, 2014.
