The controversy surrounding Kickstarter Areal developers West Games continues, but it would seem another party has come in to make peace with everyone.
No less than the Official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Facebook page, still managed by GSC Games World, has gone forward and state that they support all the spiritual successors to the series. This includes Areal, Metro 2033, Survarium, Cradle, and even Nuclear Union, which is no longer in production. They also supported fan mods like Misery, The Seed, and Lost Alpha as well. Their official position is the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community benefits from having the franchise fork off into multiple directions like this, so they want to support all of these efforts as much as possible.
Actually, as West Games has conveniently screencapped, the same page has earlier asked Misery via their Facebook page to stop posting negative content lest they lose support for their game.
The legitimacy of this page can’t be put into question. It’s been active since 2010 and has continuously been providing support for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. players. Newer players can buy these games now on Steam and GOGcom.
As I’m sure you already know, Areal has continued to face scrutiny, but if it means anything they have now raised $ 33,490, with 24 days to go.
