Microsoft is still hiring for Halo games? The interesting thing is in spite of announcingHalo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, this one remains a huge mystery.
The opening is for a Senior Producer to help develop a new project line in the Halo universe, under 343 Industries so it's more than likely a game or game series. Said project is also in the Devices and Studio Engineering division, and they are looking for someone to help ensure quality control in the game.
There are very little clues regarding the project itself, although of course, based on the job description, it seems that Microsoft has opted to not promote someone internally in lieu of getting a producer who already has the experience.
It may simply be due to 343 Studios itself being newly acquired by MS, and itself going through expansion, meaning more fresh employees.
So, there’s a chance this might not be a console Halo, but for what platform this could be is entirely up in the air. It could be a Windows Phone App, a Windows App Store app (meaning it could be available on older Windows RT devices), or a Universal App. Based on other similar projects, it could even be an Internet Explorer-exclusive browser game.
One also wonders what opportunities Microsoft found that requires creating a new line forHalo. Could this be a new casual or child friendly Halo game? Perhaps Microsoft wants to try again with Halo Spartan Assault? Time will tell when they reveal what this new Halo game will be.
