According to Digital Spy, Xbox exclusive Forza Horizon 2 will not include microtransactions at launch. There's no word when Playground Games does intend to launch the feature in the future.
"The approach we've taken is that we've designed our game at Playground Games from the ground up to be fair, to be fun, to be rewarding," creative director told Raph Fulton told the website. "That's incredibly important to us. For that reason, we will launch in September without tokens."
This decision might have been influenced by the controversy regarding the microtransactions in Forza Motorsport 5. Fulton explained that the microtransaction or otherwise known as the unlock system was designed so players can try out new cars quickly through purchasing them using real cash.
WIthout the unlock system, the game will have other ways for players to win cars and goodies like something called The Horizon Wheel Spin. "Every time you level up we've got this game of chance, and for the lucky guys, they could be a getting a Bugatti Veyron after playing the game for 30 minutes," he explained.
