Mario Maker is a title from Nintendo for everyone who ever wished they could design their own levels in Super Mario Bros. and its sequels. It was announced earlier today at Nintendo’s Digital Event from E3 2014.
Exclusive to the Wii U, the upcoming title allows players to design side-scrolling stages and swap between the graphics of 8-bit Super Mario Bros. and its newer incarnation, New Super Mario Bros. completely on the fly. Nintendo showcased the level editing such as the ability to alter the height of green pipes and place objects into the environment—all of which is done on the Wii U Gamepad.
It’s unknown at this point whether the game will see release as an eShop title or receive a full fledged release at retail. It comes out in 2015.
