Wondering what’s happened to Primal Carnage: Genesis releasing for the Playstation 4? Or Playstation 3, or PC, for that matter? Without any official announcement, it seems the game has been delayed. Unfortunately, the details are disappointing to say the least.
Ashton Andersen, cofounder of the game’s developer, Lukewarm Media, has actually split from the company in between the time they announced Primal Carnage: Genesis shortly after the Playstation 4 itself was unveiled, and took some of his own developers to found a new studio, Virtual Basement.
At the moment, Lukewarm is preoccupied on an upcoming update to the original Primal Carnage. The studio’s other cofounder, Aaron Pollack, explained that the game has taken a back seat to the update, but it isn’t completely out of the picture. The rights to the game itself are apparently ‘complicated’, but Aaron’s comments seem indicative he’s confident they’ll still be able to make the game, at least eventually.
Lukewarm didn’t commit to a release date for Primal Carnage: Genesis, and perhaps that’s a good thing. For now, we can only wait, but we will make sure to report when news on the game’s development comes out.
