Watch Dogs At 4K Does Not Disappoint

May 23, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

After learning of the compromises on the Xbox 360 version, it’s good to see Ubi’s engine pushed to its full potential

We have our first look at what Watch Dogs looks like in 4K, and it's a relief knowing the game can look this good after all.

To be clear, these are screenshots from a PC outputting the game at 3840×2160, placing it under the definition for Ultra high definition, or UHD for short.

As always, we recommend you click on the gear at the upper right of any image to view or download it in full resolution. We assure you, it does not do these images justice until you see them fully blown up.

This goes without saying, but the textures on this version put the Playstation 4 version to shame, without a shadow of a doubt. Ubisoft’s middleware may not have been able to get past the uncanny valley, but you put Adrien in a car and have him drive across people free roads and it’s definitely photorealistic to the bone.

The fan who made this gallery, twisted89, shared his rig, and explained that at this setup, he gets 30 to 50 FPS driving and 60 FPS when Aiden is indoors:

·         Intel i7 920 overclocked to 3.8 MHz

·         10 GB RAM

·         Sapphire HD 7970 GHz 6 GB Edition

Furthermore, he’s set in-game graphics quality settings to ultra and turned everything on.

And so, it seems that graphics wise, the PC edition will actually be the definitive edition of Watch Dogs, so you will want to get that version, if you can afford to run it, that is.

Watch Dogs is coming May 27 to Windows, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out the full gallery below:
