EA Sports UFC: Designing the Fighter Behind the Scenes

May 20, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Watch this trailer to see how fighters were designed in EA Sports UFC.

EA Sports has put together and released a new trailer for their upcoming fighting sports game, EA Sports UFC. The trailer takes a break from roster reveals to showcase a bit of the development behind the scenes.

EA Sports replicates real-life fighters to the smallest of details, with every scar and every blemish noted in their appearances within the Octagon. From the tiniest blemishes to trademark fighting stances and styles, the level of depth when it comes to fighter design is at a point previously unseen in other fighting games. The effects of battle are clearly shown as the rounds pass, with fighters showing signs of fatigue, redness and blotchy impact marks.

A procedural tracking system means that the way fighters interact in the ring is realistic and typical of actual MMA combat. Combatant's reactions to their opponent are detailed in the way they move, their posture and the feedback they show to taking damage.

EA Sports UFC is set for release on June 17 for North America and June 20 for Europe.
