Don’t look now, but there’s a chance that you may be hunting down bounties as John Marston in Windows soon.
Fans have found that the Windows compatibility page has a listing for Red Dead Redemption. It shows that the game is compatible for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. In case that page gets pulled, here's a screenshot:
This information is not so easily dismissed, either. To get listed on the Windows Compatibility Center, someone from Rockstar Games had to make that submission for compatibility to Microsoft. He or she would have needed to use Rockstar’s official email and shared other information for Microsoft to verify that it’s legitimate. For it to get to this stage means that this has leaned more towards highly likely.
But, you may ask, isn’t Rockstar busy with Grand Theft Auto Online? And didn’t they say the game was not coming for all platforms? Well, that initial statement from Rockstar came out in 2011. That situation may have changed since last year, when a job opening leaked that Rockstar has been building up a dedicated team for PC ports. This same rumor also implies thatGTA V could also be making the jump to PC.
We still don’t have an official response from Rockstar about this, but given PS3 and Xbox 360 are declining fast, it would not be no surprise if Rockstar is already making plans to transfer GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption along with it, over. We will keep you up to date when more news about Red Dead Redemption for PC comes out.
