It seems that there is trouble brewing at Zenimax, as they have apparently recanted an announcement that Elder Scrolls Online will be delayed for Playstation 4 and Xbox One for a few months.
OK, so a fan did see and record an earlier message claiming that they have decided they need six more months to make the ports. They promised to share a blog post with details later, but they did not follow through on said promise.
Instead, they have been deleting comments regarding the apparent delay on their Facebook page. They have been deleting polite and foul comments alike, which refer to pulling preorders, lack of communication, deleting the comments, and questions about their previous FAQ page.
Here’s a screenshot of the said FAQ page, which has since been edited:
So, there seems to have been some internal disagreement with Zenimax regarding the state of that many fans are upset that Zenimax is not talking to them in a timely manner about updates, bug fixes, and the pending console release.
The same fans who are complaining about the communication are also more than aware of TESO’s issues. As they put it, they tried to push to mash together TES and MMO, but they didn’t make it all come together. So, they’re stuck in this position where they have a PC game to fix, but also upcoming ports to launch.
Looking at all this, one can’t help but hope that Zenimax delays these games, and also that they bring the status of the game’s development out in the open. It does them no good to stay tight-lipped and keep tongues wagging like this. Zenimax should just talk to clear the air, and we're sure they're commiserrating on messaging right now. We will keep you up to date when more news appears.
