We have new details for you regarding Batman: Arkham Knight. Nothing too major here, but if you’ve been holding on for this game, you are going to love what you read – and see – below.
Let’s start with info coming from the Arkhamverse forums. These are details you may have missed since the major news outlets may have themselves passed it over, but were revealed by magazine ‘GamesMaster’.
The mag claims the game is only 40 % completed, but there should be more than enough time to finish it. Note that Rockstar has not confirmed this.
Now, regarding the Mark 2, Batman’s revamped grappling hook designed to work with Gotham City, which is five times the size of Arkham. While accelerating, you can press X to get a higher jump. You will also be able to turn a full 180 degrees, so that you can easily turn and glide away from the building you came from. Lastly, anytime you want to recon a spot, you can release the line launcher and it will insta-perch. The line launcher will find the best building you can connect to automatically.
Regarding the side missions, they have been designed so that you won’t feel too much linearity. As a result, each super villain has different storylines that definitely diverge from the main story. After all, it’s not like Bruce is in a rush to save Gotham or anything.
You might be thinking the Batman comes OP for this game, but don’t expect a ScrewAttack situation here. Batman’s abilities are not game breaking. Bruce can still get shot down to death by a mob of gangsters.
And now, for the big payoff. Here’s Kevin Conroy talking about working on Arkham Knight.
This roundup below is just in case you can’t watch the video for some reason. Kevin explains that he let the cat out of the bag too early, and apparently isn’t supposed to talk about the game at all. But then, he reveals he has been working on the game for over a year now and it’s still not done. Lastly, he tells everyone the game will awe us with its scale, and does a little Batman voice to sum.
Batman Arkham Knight is coming to Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on October 14.
