Card Hunter is one of the most criminally underrated titles of 2013, and it’s still going strong. Don’t let the fact that it’s a free, web-based game stop you from playing it. It’s a really enjoyable turn-based strategy game, that rivals Final Fantasy Tactics, in my opinion.
It’s getting even bigger today with the release of the Attack of the Artifacts expansion set, which like the core game pays homage to tabletop strategy games. Blue Manchu Games have clearly outdone themselves.
The Attack of the Artifacts expansion contains all new content, cards, items, and a branad new league mode. Included in the expansion are over 70 new cards, 200 new items and six new adventures as well as a brand new multiplayer league system.
The press release invites us to explore the mysterious Valley of Tezkal and collect powerful new cards and artifacts from the distant past. Challenge Sharkbears, Umber Bulks and other monsters of legend in fiendishly difficult new adventures.
In the brand new league system, players can take on the role of monsters wielding devastating monster cards or use your multiplayer party to challenge others on radically new boards to win prizes including pizza, treasure chests and unique figures.
A trailer for the Attack of the Artifacts can be seen below, with further details to be found at the game's official blog.
Did I mention that it's free to play?
