Stalker 2 was something that developers tried to get off the ground in the past. While development was going on for this title for a small period, it eventually came to an end. However, several years later GSC Game World got Stalker 2 back in development, although details are a bit scarce at the moment. We know that the video game will once again put players into a bounty hunter type of role where you’ll head into the Zone, an area heavily radiated over the Chernobyl incident. While you seek out loot and information, you’ll find yourself also being sought out by mutated hostiles.
Outside of today, there was only one teaser showing the title off. However, the development studio GSC Game World has decided to showcase a new trailer that offers a bit more gameplay. All that’s stated so far is that this is in-engine gameplay footage and it’s only a teaser so don’t expect anything too substantial. Instead, it’s only about a minute long, but with it, you’ll get a bit more of an idea of what to expect in terms of the tone and atmosphere from the gameplay experience.
As of right now, there is no release date attached to Stalker 2. We know that it’s slated to launch in 2021 and like other studios, there was probably a bit of a delay in production due to the worldwide health pandemic outbreak. Still, the development studio has this game coming out in 2021 for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and the PC platform. You can also expect this game to be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch so those that own the service will be able to enjoy it right when it becomes available.
