Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’: What’s In Patch 2.25? Coming Before The Month Ends

April 18, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

We can’t verify all the rumored changes here, but if true, it’s going to shake things up for sure.

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’s patch 2.25 is coming up very soon. To be specific, we have it on some good sources that it will be out before the end of this month.

#FFXIV Patch 2.25 is currently scheduled to drop around the end of April.

So, what’s in the patch? A lot of attention has been placed on an upcoming fix to make the Mirror of the Whorl much easier to obtain. These changes are forthcoming:

  • The Tidal Wave Shield and Tidal Wave Buckler will be added as potential replacements for the Whorleater. While this will increase the rate at which shields appear, the drop rates for weapons, as well as the drop tables for weapons and shields, will be unaffected.
  • If you used a Mirror of the Whorl to upgrade a Wave Shield or Wave Buckler before the patch, you will get another Mirror of the Whorl. The developers will actually go into the system to analyze and find who already did this during the maintenance period for the patch, and send the Mirrors soon after.

But, there’s more. According to this source, a huge update is on its way for PvP. The Max Rank will go up to 40. Rank 40 Gear will come with Animal Series Gear.

Finally, and this might break the game for some, but according to this source, Retainers will be able to do your work for you after the patch. This is for the sake of those players who are not doing well enough to beat parts of the game. Retainers will go through dungeons, level up your character, and craft your items. They can even stand in for you for the Beastmen tribe daily quests.

Yeah, I don’t know about that either, but let’s wait and see if it gets confirmed 1st. We’ll make sure to keep you up to date on the latest developments with A Realm Reborn.
