There is a wide range of fighting video game titles that players can flock towards. A lot of these fighting games come with a pretty long history of installments as well. However, for some gamers, the easier to pick up and play titles are the go-to and one of those iconic franchises offers just that. I’m, of course, referring to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros, a series that has been around since the Nintendo 64. It’s also attributed to several other video game fighting titles.
Super Smash Bros was a unique fighter as it took a collection of Nintendo iconic characters and pinned themselves against each other in a platforming brawl. It’s a series that’s also continued with the latest installment, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, holding the largest roster of character fighters from the series so far. However, while Nintendo continues to add more characters into their Super Smash Bros series, other developers are looking to take that same kind of charm and deliver their unique take.
That brings us to a Kickstarter for a game called Fraymakers. This is a title being developed by McLeod Gaming and it offers the same overall style of game but rather than using iconic first-party video game characters, we will be seeing a brawler based around indie characters. We’re going to see both classic indie characters featured along with characters from new indie games.
Its Kickstarter goal was set for $46,000 and now that the Kickstarter is coming to an end, McLeod Gaming is leaving with over $300,000. That’s well over their goal which means not only will this game come out in 2022, but we will see several other stretch goals hit which means that we’re going to see more stages, OSTs, and even additional characters get added into the game as well.
