Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of the most anticipated video game titles of 2020. For years fans have been waiting for this game and for good reason. This title was developed under CD Projekt Red, the same development team that brought out the highly successful The Witcher trilogy. These folks really know how to deliver an immersive RPG experience.
However, 2020 was a year filled with games getting delayed out of the year and into 2021. This was all due to the worldwide health pandemic outbreak. Fortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t one of the games that were forced into being pushed out of the 2020 year. Although with that said, the studio had delayed the game multiple times this year. Now we’re just a few days away before we’ll get a chance in playing the game for ourselves.
For consoles, the game will be available on December 10, 2020, although on PC, some players will get the chance to dive into the campaign on December 9, 2020. As a result, the game is available for preload and if you happened to purchase the game ahead of launch, you can start the preload. In fact, it looks like CD Projekt Red opted to make an Easter Egg for those who purchased a PC copy through GOG.
It turns out that starting the game up through GOG early will result in Johnny Silverhand, a key character in the campaign that is portrayed by actor Keanu Reeves, showing up. Johnny will alert players that it’s not December 10, 2020, yet and go back to sleep. This is a small Easter Egg but every player that is preloading the game is likely going to see if the title will start early.
Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on December 9, 2020, for PC players, meanwhile those on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will be able to start the game on December 10, 2020.
