The Simpsons might be past its prime but it's still one of the most culturally important shows ever made and the series has made more than a few nods to video games over its 25 year run.
The latest game to be highlighted by Matt Groening's dysfunctional family is Minecraft, which was featured in a new episode intro that you can check out below.
Mojang's Markus 'Notch' Persson wasn't entirely thrilled by his game's appearance on the show, however, commenting on Twitter:
The Simpsons did a Minecraft couch gag. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

It's not hard to see why The Simpsons' creative team went with Minecraft, the game has now sold 12 million copies on Xbox 360 and over 40 million copies in total across all platforms.
But Notch still has trouble reconciling its massive success with the game's humble origins:
I STILL feel a bit like it's just this small game I made at home. It's so weird to have all these things happen. <3

Are there any other games you'd like to see redone by the residents of 742 Evergreen Terrace?
