Grave Kickstarter Will Fully Fund Oculus Rift Port

April 2, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

However, you can play it on PC without a Rift if you wanted to – regardless of what OS you use.

We have for you a brand spanking new Kickstarter, which promises to knock the socks off PC gamers, especially if they plan to get an Oculus Rift. Introducing the reinvention of the survival horror genre, Broken Window Studios’ Grave.

The idea of the reboot is simple, but promises to be effective. You will be in a sprawling, procedurally generated, dynamic world, with a day/night system to boot. However, lacking guns, your only effective weapons against the things that bump in the night is light.

Be they matches, flashlights, gasoline, or flares, light comes in many forms and has varying levels of effectiveness. What can easily scare away one baddie will draw another towards you.

True to form, gameplay and atmosphere have taken center stage for this stunning horror feature, and as a result the game offers fluid story elements (changeable based on your choices) and some openings to choose different gameplay styles as well. You can fortify yourself and wait it out in the dark, or arm up and take the monsters head on as you go exploring. These are the kinds of choices that will affect the ending you will get for the game, if you live that long anyway.

Now, the big draw for this game is Oculus Rift, which they have not backed out of. However, you will not need an Oculus Rift for this game, and in fact, whether you use Windows, Mac, or Linux, you’re all set for this game.

Grave is gunning for $ 30,000, which will cover Oculus Rift development. You can check out the pitch video below and go ahead and pitch your share here.
