Red Thread Games, the developer of Dreamfall Chapters, has announced a new game called Draugen at the EGX Rezzed event this past Saturday. The game is described as “Gone Home meets Amnesia” and “HP Lovecraft meets Dostoyevsky” by its creator Ragnar Tornquist.
During the same event, Tornquist showed off the studio’s other game, Dreamfall Chapters, which remains in development after a successful bid on Kickstarter. It’s a continuation of the Dreamfall games published by Funcom, which were also developed by Tornquist while he was at the studio.
Set in the 1920s, Draugen is a first-person survival horror adventure, which takes place among the fjords of Norway. It’s due for release next year on the PC, Mac and current-gen (read: PS4 and Xbox One) consoles. The game is also expected to support VR systems like the Oculus Rift and will be headed to Kickstarter soon.
