Elder Scrolls Online: How To Disable Starter Videos

March 31, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Do you want to skip those starter videos and get straight to the action? As long as you’re playing on Windows, you can.

We have for you a pretty simple guide on how to disable the introduction videos in Elder Scrolls Online.

Unfortunately, Zenimax and Bethesda have yet to give us the option to turn them off or skip them ourselves, but, assuming you’re playing on a PC, you can do this easily.

First, you shut down the game, including the launcher. Remember that the launcher stays on while you’re playing and can be shut down separately.

Then, go to Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/liveeu (or liveus)/UserSettings

From there, look for and open UserSetting.txt. It would be best if you used Notepad.

Inside the text document, look for this line (just press Ctrl + F if you’re using Notepad to open the search bar):

SET SkipPregameVideos "0"

Simply put, edit that line to say

SET SkipPregameVideos "1"

And then save (Notepad users can click Save As and override the previous file.)

When that’s all done, you just need to start the game over again and it should skip them now. As noted earlier, this fix is for Windows only. Sorry, Mac users.
