The ever popular The Binding of Isaac is getting an updated edition in the form of Rebirth, which is said to be nearing the end of development, lead designer Edmund McMillen revealed today.
Rebirth is a remake of the original game, which was Flash-based, surprisingly enough. It comes with all new artwork and will introduce new art direction as it runs on a shiny new engine instead of Flash. The game will also see the introduction of 150 new items for Isaac to gear himself with, three new playable characters, and two-player couch co-op.
Additionally, the game will see the inclusion of different sized rooms (as opposed to static-sized rooms from the original game), new enemies, chapters, bosses and endings.
The game is headed to the PS4, PS Vita, and Windows PC, where you’ll no doubt be able to watch Twitch streamers edge their way through the game’s daunting and randomly-generated mazes.
