Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, the upcoming prologue to The Phantom Pain, isn’t your typical Metal Gear game. Sure, there will likely be extended cutscenes brimming with convoluted information, as well as a healthy dose of stealth, but Konami’s latest Snake-themed project might only take you two hours to complete. The reduced completion time, coupled with a budget price, have made it so that creator Hideo Kojima can’t include a platinum trophy on the PlayStation platforms.
"The reason GZ doesn't have Platinum Trophy in PS4 is due to SONY's regulation," Kojima said on his always-busy Twitter account. "They won't allow us to have them for non-full price game."
This means that neither the PlayStation 4 nor PlayStation 3 versions will have a full suite of unlockables. So, you might have to wait until The Phantom Pain – which is rumored to launch in early 2015 – to scratch your Trophy itch.
