There has been ongoing anticipation for Call of Duty fans on just what the next installment will hold for them. In 2020 we knew that there would be another installment to the long-running video game franchise, but just what that title entails had been mainly a secret. A poorly kept secret one at that as there’s been a series of rumors and supposed leaks that came out online that indicated just what the game is called and of course the time period its set in.
Call of Duty 2020 is officially unveiled to be Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. This has been the title and setting that’s been circulating online for a good little while now. Over the past few weeks, there have been some teases and hints for players to solve which eventually lead to this teaser trailer being released. It’s not much of a trailer for the gameplay or cinematic storyline, but footage from past events.
The teaser mainly showcases footage of Yuri Bezmenov the KGB defector that talks about the cold war. It’s a means to set the mood and offer players some insight on what to expect with the full game reveal comes out. Thankfully, it’s not a guessing game as to when this next big footage reveal will be taking place as we have a date to mark on our calendars at the end of this teaser.
At the end of the teaser, we get the date for August 26, 2020, which is when we’ll get the official worldwide trailer for the game. This should offer some premise to the campaign along with potentially some gameplay footage. Of course, we’ll likely get plenty of other trailers to showcase other elements of the game such as the multiplayer, the official release date, and the platforms players can pick the game for.
