Deathloop Has Been Delayed To 2021

August 18, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Devs require more time to polish the title.

After the announcement of Microsoft’s Xbox Series X’s Halo Infinite getting delayed into 2021, Sony is also sharing a similar experience with the PlayStation 5. Arkane Lyon has unveiled that their upcoming Deathloop title has been pushed further into 2021. This is all due to the developers requiring more time to polish the game in time for a proper launch. Unfortunately, the specific release date for when we can mark our 2021 calendars has yet to be unveiled.

2020 was a big anticipated year for the video game industry. We knew that this would be the year for both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X release, but none of us could have predicted the worldwide health pandemic outbreak we’re enduring. With such a massive outbreak, we’re going through quarantines and social distancing until the world can get a better grip on controlling the spread. However, it looks like we’re still finding some effects being placed on the industry months after the outbreak has occurred.

One of the means to ensure that the governments are able to take control of the virus spread is by enforcing more work at home for businesses. As a result, most video game development studios have been transitioning to a remote work setup. While most of these studios have been going through remote work for a few months now, it still shows that there are a few setbacks that the developers are having to face again.

There’s more time being made to ensure that the quality of the product the studio is hoping for is still met with even if the employees are not under the same roof. Arkane Lyon has unveiled that Deathloop is being delayed. This announcement came from their official Deathloop Twitter account, where the studio alerts followers that the game is being pushed to Q2 2021 as the team requires more time to polish the game. This has left some wondering if there may be more games that will follow the trend leading to a less than full launch for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

For now, we know that Deathloop is coming in 2021 for the PC and PlayStation 5 platforms. However, we’ll have to wait and see just when exactly the game officially hits the marketplace. In the meantime, you can check out the game trailer above along with a game gallery down below.
