Alistair, the first full companion in the original Dragon Age: Origins as well as the heir to Ferelden's throne, likely won’t be making an appearance in the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition. The popular warrior has appeared in the game's expansion pack Awakening, the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC, Dragon Age 2, and the Silent Grove comic series, but voice actor Steve Valentine has confirmed through Twitter that he hasn’t been asked to participate in the new game.
With this new BioWare RPG expected to launch by the end of the year, you’d hope that the developer would have at least dropped Valentine a line if Alistair were to appear. So, fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up, but they can at least get excited for new information coming this week. Aaryn Flynn, general manager for BioWare’s Edmonton and Montreal studios, teased some sort of announcement recently over his social media, so there’s at least some hope for good news.
If you’re looking to catch up on game details and character designs (that aren’t Alistair), we have you covered.
