Sony’s Watch Dogs Release Date Likely A Placeholder

March 3, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The date is likely a place-holder but Sony says Watch_Dogs coming June 30th.

Sony has listed Watch_Dogs' release date as June 30th on its Entertainment Network store.

The date is a Monday which suggests that this will not be the actual launch day of the game, most titles are released on Tuesday in North America and on Friday in Europe, and is likely a place-holder but it does provide us with some idea of when to expect the game.

Publisher Ubisoft confirmed in its last financial report that Watch_Dogs would be released during the April to June quarter but the company has yet to respond to requests for comment on Sony's dating of the title.

The new date follows an advertisement on the PlayStation website which said Watch_Dogs' release date would be revealed in a trailer which has yet to materialise.

Watch_Dogs is headed to PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. While we don't currently know the game's release date, we do know that the Wii U version has been delayed.
