Halo fans really want to know what’s under the helmet of your friend and mind, Master Chief. The legendary Spartan stands as one of gaming’s most recognizable icons, but no one’s ever seen what’s under that protective dome piece that he’s sported since the original Xbox release.
The first-person franchise has quite a few dedicated followers, though, and a recent video by Halo5Follower showcases how fans have cobbled together what they think his face looks like. You can see it in the video above, but just know that he’s not exactly the prettiest man you’ll ever see.
Those who contributed to Master Chief’s face used different hints and reveals over the course of the series to come up with what you see above, which the YouTuber seems pretty convinced is how the soldier really looks. It’s something we’d only be able to confirm, though, if Chief actually takes off the helmet in either of the next two games.
The current rumor is that Halo 5 will be making its way to Xbox One in 2015, while the HD version of Halo 2 should be available by the end of this year.
