Paradox Interactive has two fresh pieces of software on the docket. Runemaster, an RPG based on Norse mythology and Hearts of Iron IV, the latest entry in the World War II strategy series were both unveiled at the Paradox Interactive Convention in Miami.
Runemaster will throw players into the boots of a champion leading a pack of troops into combat, with six unique worlds of Norse myth to explore. Of course, it’s all procedural, so no two playthroughs will look the same.
“Creating an RPG is something new for Paradox Development Studio, and it’s been a dream project we’ve wanted to undertake for a long time now,” said Johan Andersson, Studio Manager at Paradox Development Studio. “We’re always playing RPGs in our spare time and discovering new things we love about them as a game genre; it was only natural that sooner or later we’d have to design our own. Runemaster is the result, and we know our fans will love it.”
Hearts of Iron IV will let players either relive history or alter it based on their military actions. The real-time simulation game will let users battle on land, sea, and air, with diplomatic tactics also being offered.
