Warhorse Studios, coming out of the Czech Republic, has revealed a new Kickstarter project on the way, called Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Warhorse Studios’ teams is comprised of veterans who’ve worked together on games like ArmA, Forza Horizon, Crysis 3, Flashpoint, and the first 2 Mafia games. They currently have a 30 person team they’re hoping to expand to 75 people so that they can create the finished product as they envisioned it.
The game will be a brutally realistic single player RPG set in medieval Europe. No wizards or dragons, goes the Kickstarter pitch. Instead, you enter a dynamic open game world where your choices shape the non-linear story to your liking. You also choose to enter the world in different ways, fighting it outright as a knight, skulking in the shadows like a rogue, or charming your way to victory as a bard.
They promise a lot of realism on the fighting itself, based on 15th century fighting techniques and using inverse kinematics. The world itself covers 3.5 square miles and can fill out 30 hours of gameplay. What’s also different is that you can switch your roles around throughout the game, so you can play out the parts of a bard, rogue and knight. Other modifiable aspects include creating weapons, building relationships, building up armies, etc.
Warhorse is looking for 300,000 British pounds at the onset. The game is sure to come to Windows, OS X and Linux, with a possibility of PS4 and Xbox One ports. You can learn more and help fund the game here.
