Halo and Destiny might both be first-person shooters with a sci-fi flair, but that doesn’t mean that Bungie’s two flagship products are mechanically analogous. Players will need to rethink their strategies when diving into the developer’s latest brand this fall, which is something that design lead Lars Bakken explained in a recent Bungie podcast.
"Skill is very important," Bakken said. "[But] it's not just your thumb skill. it's understanding how you are outfitting yourself, what weapons you are taking, what choices you have made in your build and then understanding how to use them properly.
"What used to work in Halo, doesn't work as well in Destiny.”
Players won’t get a chance to experience the full game until September, but a beta will become available this summer.
