Nintendo Sorry for TVii Not Being Available in Europe

January 14, 2014 by Stephen Daly

‘Please continue to keep an eye out,’ says update on official Wii U website.

More than a year after the Wii U's launch one of the system's premier features, TVii, remains unavailable in Europe and Nintendo has issued an apology to those affected on its website.

TVii works with your existing TV channels as well as streaming services such as Amazon Instant Video and Hulu Plus. Users can select and launch programmes to watch on either TV or the Wii U GamePad itself.

Nintendo commented:

"We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned.

"Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future."

A button to link to TVii has been present on the system's pause menu since launch in November 2012 but pressing it will yield an error message.

Nintendo has not provided a reason for the delay or a more exact launch window.
