Road Redemption Update Video Shows Progress, New Gameplay Mechanics In Action

January 14, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Dark Seas Games promises a new video soon as well, as the game’s deadline looms.

A new update video has come out for upcoming racing action game Road Redemption, highlighting that this game is going to be nothing like Road Rash at all.

Among other things, the new footage shows off the camera leaning back for a wider 3rd person view, and the actual implementation of using the gun as a weapon. Equipping the gun precipitates the introduction of a cross hairs, that floats in the periphery of your 3rd person avatar as he keeps racing across the road. Your avatar is positioned in such a way that the crosshair is always in the middle of the screen. We don’t know how controls will work out in particular, but it appears you will be able to either move your bike around, or move your crosshairs around, by turning the camera around, to hit targets.

On the forums, one of the developers has revealed that there is another video on the way next week which will show two and four player splitscreen, another biker model, and two more bikes.

So, progress seems to be ongoing in earnest, and with that May 2014 deadline looming in the background, we hope to see it take shape more rapidly in the coming months. Dark Seas Games has constantly reaffirmed that development is very much still in schedule, so we hope to see a much more polished final product when it finally releases. Steam and the fans have picked up where EA and Criterion Games left off, so we can only be hopeful that Dark Seas has found in them the support that they need.
