Engadet reports that at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas game console accessory maker Nyko has announced a slew of peripheries for the PlayStation 4 and the DualShock 4 controller.
An intercooler which attaches itself to the back of the console in order to lower the PS4's running temperature was among the products revealed. Additionally, a PowerPak replacement battery for the DualShock 4 has been announced and is said to double the controller's the somewhat limited life of the standard battery using a 1,000mAh cell.
The DualShock 4 has a standard battery life of seven to eight hours and typically takes two hours to recharge. While a cooler may not seem necessary, it's never a bad idea to ensure your console has enough air. Microsoft has designed the Xbox One to turn off if the system detects that it's overheating and that console's relatively large size was decided upon in part to ensure none of the venting problems which plagued early Xbox 360 models occurred on Xbox One.
Nyko has yet to detail the release dates or pricing details of the peripheries.
