Another day, another fighter added to EA Sports UFC’s impressive roster of high-caliber athletes. The first ever MMA game from EA carrying the UFC brand is still a few months away, but the hard-working team has decided to release high-resolution images of the playable fighters every few days in anticipation for release. This week, we take a look at the top light heavyweight contender, Alexander Gustafsson.
If you’re unfamiliar with this Swedish brawler, then you’re truly missing out on one of the UFC’s rising stars. After a strong start in the organization, “The Mauler” fought Jon “Bones” Jones in a title match that no fight fan will forget in the near future. The two 205-pound fighters spent 25 minutes pushing each other to the limit, and while Jones walked away with the belt, Gustafsson was clearly the toughest challenge that the pound-for-pound great had ever encountered.
Gustafsson is one of two cover athletes, and his rematch for the title is expected to take place sometime in 2014. He’s one of the most promising talents out there, and a great addition to the roster of this spring title.
