Overkill Software has released some brand new DLC for Payday 2, absolutely free starting today if you join the game's official community. Introducing Charlie Santa, a holiday themed heist that’s anything but filled with cheer and goodwill. The official page lists 2 plans for the heist and is filled with tips, but we'll just go through the plan details with you here. You can read the rest, including the achievements list, here.
Plan A will take 12 minutes. You enter and recon the areas, with some friendly builders leaving ladders behind them. You disable and/or bypass the cameras, pacify armed security, and then take control of the bank staff and the civilians. You then get two keycards, one with the manager and one with a random teller. If the manager doesn’t have his card on him, find his tan leather briefcase.
It’s all elementary from here, as you put both cards into the vault locks, waiting out the time lock and keeping captives under control. The lock repeats itself every four minutes, so this element is left to chance. If you’re on schedule, you’ll have enough time to bag the money and get out of there.
Plan B, which will take 20 or more minutes, kicks in if you find yourself under fire. Drill the vault open and wait out the arrival of Mr. Glasses, your pilot who will airdrop some lift cage parts to assemble. Bag the money and place it in an assembled lift cage. Deploy the skyhook balloon as a signal to your pilot and wait it out to make sure the money is airlifted. Finally, make your way back to the van and get out of there.
