Call of Duty Ghosts Vector CRB Guide

December 16, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

The Vector CRB hits hard, but requires skill to compensate for a key deficiency. Get the details here.

This is a guide for the Vector CRB for Call of Duty Ghosts.

The Vector CRB is a high caliber carbine rifle differentiated by a special recoil reducing action. It outputs good damage, killing at close range at three shots, two if headshots. At longer ranges, that becomes five shots to kill, four if headshots. The CRB has the highest per shot damage for SMGs, but also enjoys the penetration of an assault rifle. This makes it easier to get through protection and light armor to make that kill.

It has good hipfire but a low comparative rate of fire, at 759 rounds per minute. It is easily outclassed by other full automatics will outclass it easily, so precise shooting is essential. In terms of handling, it has moderate recoil, and a fast aim time of 200 ms. You also enjoy full mobility with this weapon.

The Vector CRB magazine can hold 32 rounds, 48 on extended magazines. This number is sufficient but low compared to other SMGs. Notably, its fast reload time of 2.53 seconds compensates for both magazine capacity and rate of fire.

The Vector’s strengths are its mid-range performance and consistent performance, so you need to make sure you do not compromise these traits when picking Perks and Attachments.

The Foregrip is a good choice of attachments, increasing accuracy and playing to its strengths. With the red dot sight, you can stay on target even while moving around. Stalker is a fitting Perk that then works well with the carbine’s mobility. It also compensates for the slower rate of fire. To deal with incoming fire, you should also get Focus.

You will also want to make use of healing Perks so you can keep going when deep in enemy territory. ICU will speed up health recovery, and Blast Shield to better cope with IEDs, grenades, C4 and other explosives. You may also want to equip tactical grenades for these situations.

Overall, the Vector CRB is known for accuracy, high damage, and ease of use. The low rate of fire gives use of the gun a certain degree of challenge, but if you play well, you’ll find it is an effective weapon.
