Ghost of Tsushima Release Date Confirmed for June 26th, New Story Trailer Sheds Light on Plot

March 5, 2020 by Jordan Biazzo

This looks epic!

Andrew Goldfarb Communications Manager at Sucker Punch Productions took to the PlayStation Blog to announce some exciting news regarding their upcoming PlayStation exclusive title, Ghost of Tsushima.

The biggest news that comes out from the blog post is that we have finally received an official release date for the game, which is set for June 26th. Yes, the highly anticipated title from Sucker Punch, is coming this Summer, and the wait isn’t that long!

In addition to the release date announcement, the developers also released a story trailer for the game. Up to this point, we have not really learned what the game is truly about, but thanks to the new story trailer, and some detailed descriptions from Sucker Punch, we know have a better understanding.

Check out the brand new story trailer for Ghost of Tsuhima down below:

As I mentioned above, Sucker Punch released some important story details that were showcased in the Story Trailer. Thanks to the PS Blog, we get even more detail about the game’s characters, story, and more! Check out the detailed highlights from the blog post down below:

The brand-new trailer that showcases our hero, Jin Sakai. In the past, we’ve shown the world around Jin, but this time we wanted to give you a taste of the people he meets along his journey and the scale of the threat that forces him to transform into a new kind of warrior. While you’ll catch glimpses of several of Jin’s allies and enemies in today’s trailer, there are two we want to focus on in particular.

The first is Jin’s uncle, Shimura, the jito (lord) of Tsushima and a father figure to Jin. He’s trained Jin since childhood in the traditional ways of the samurai, and grows increasingly concerned by the tactics Jin starts to adopt as he abandons his teachings and becomes The Ghost. The second important character we’re highlighting today is Khotun Khan. The Khan is the leader of the invading Mongol army and a ruthless, cunning enemy who uses everything he knows about the samurai to try to destroy them. He’s a brutal, unrelenting adversary that Jin will quickly learn not to underestimate.

Ghost of Tsushima is officially set to release exclusively for the PS4 on June 26th. Are you excited for the upcoming title? Let us know in the comments below!
