The PlayStation 4 has now been released in an additional 16 countries bringing to 48 the number of regions were the system is now available.
The countries, listed by the PlayStation Blog, where the PS4 is available as of today are the Czech Republic, Greece, Slovakia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Venezuela, and South Africa can get their hands on the console.
More territories are to follow later this year and into early 2014 with release dates already confirmed for Hong Kong, Singapore (December 19th), Malaysia (December 20th), Philippines (January 14th) and Japan (February 22nd).
The Xbox One remains on sale in only the initial 13 launch countries and it's unclear when the system will be made available in other regions. Recent reports suggest eight European countries where the Xbox One was delayed may not see the console until September 2014.
2.1 million PlayStation 4 systems and two million Xbox Ones have been sold to date according to the latest figures available.
