EA Sports UFC, the first MMA game from the major publisher boasting the UFC’s brand and significant suite of fighters, has officially reached alpha. That's a major development milestone, and in order to celebrate, the team has released a fresh screenshot of cover athlete and UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon “Bones” Jones.
The 205 fighter you see above is not only the youngest champion the organization has ever crowned, but also one of the pound-for-pound best fighters in the world. After the fall of Anderson Silva, Jones was catapulted into the number one spot, and by all accounts, he deserves the recognition. Boasting a nearly perfect record – only blemished by a single DQ loss – and dominant wins over the best of the best 205 pounders in the world, Jones is the perfect choice to represent the sport and kick off EA’s roster reveal.
This is the first of a long series of screenshots that will be released to showcase the roster of fighters, which includes almost 100 different UFC fighters. With the game not coming to the Xbox One and PS4 until spring 2014, expect to see plenty of the biggest stars in all their graphical glory before the official release.
