Google Stadia Now Compatible On Additional Smartphones

February 18, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Check out what new Android devices have been added in.

Google Stadia mad a massive splash initially when it was announced. For a lot of gamers out there, this was the Netflix style service but for video game titles. That, unfortunately, wasn’t the case as Google had to go back and clear up their announcement. What this service provides is a means to enjoy video games through the use of Google’s server. Ultimately, this meant that you wouldn’t have to worry about your hardware running the video game but instead primarily focus on the internet connection.

From tablets, phones, televisions, and computers, Google Stadia was going to provide a means to enjoy AAA video game titles at any given moment. All you have to do is pay for the video game title and use their service which would cost an additional fee if you wish to unlock all the features such as 4K support. Since its launch, there were very few limited video game titles that provided a means to enjoy Google Stadia such as the line of Google Pixel smartphones. Now Google is finally opening up the Stadia platform to be featured on other Android devices.

Included into the mix are Samsung Galaxy, Razer and Asus smartphones. We’ll include the newly added devices into a list right down below.

Google Stadia Supported Smartphones

  • Google Pixel 2
  • Google Pixel 3
  • Google Pixel 4
  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S10
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Razer Phone
  • Razer Phone 2
  • Asus ROG Phone
  • Asus ROG Phone 2

As mentioned, the Google Stadia platform relies on a stable internet connection and while it may be easy to maintain a stable connection, the big problem some may have is the limited bandwidth their ISP offers. With this being a problem for some gamers, it could be less than enticing to try the service out. Furthermore, there is likely going to be a problem with the amount of video game titles provided right now on the service which again may sway some gamers from trying out the service as well. Regardless, if you would like our views on Google Stadia then check out our Before You Buy episode upload down below.
