Kiefer Sutherland, the new voice of the grizzled Snake, is pushing the protagonist to new extremes. Speaking to Xbox Newswire about Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, series creator Hideo Kojima explained just how much Sutherland is adding to the story-driven project. The new level of detail that can be achieved through voice and motion capture is helping to add a new dimension to one of the industry’s most recognizable heroes.
"It's no longer just about the words that a character speaks," the developer said. “It's about the depth of their facial performance and the expressive tone of their voice.
"As technology evolves, it's vital that the expressiveness of the characters in the game evolve to match the capabilities of the hardware. Kiefer is helping us to raise the bar in that respect, and I'm looking forward to the final result."
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will release March 18, Konami has just confirmed. It will act as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, and will include a portion of the open world that fans are itching to explore.
