There are seemingly no shortages of sports video game titles though there is certainly a lack in boxing titles. One of the beloved boxing franchises that have been around for a few years has been Fight Night by EA. Unfortunately, EA has left the series rather dormant since Fight Night Round 4 launched back in 2011. Since then there have been fans wondering if we would ever see a new boxing title launch into the market or if MMA has dominated the focus on fighting sports games.
It looks like there may be some consideration in bringing back Fight Night back from the dead after Eddie Hearn, a big boxing promoter was interviewed by The Boxing Voice. In a quick interview, Eddie Hearn was asked if any video game developers had reached out in hopes of bringing out a new boxing title in which Eddie claims that EA actually got in contact.
Apparently, Eddie Hearn would be a big fan over a boxing game being made and he has previously reached out to EA Sports to alert them about the fan anticipation of a new Fight Night game. Eddie Hearn did get an alert from EA stating that they are looking at it but it doesn’t seem that we are confirming a new Fight Night title anytime soon.
It’s quite a shame if the franchise doesn’t live on to see another installment. The series has always been a fantastic boxing sim that featured an assortment of both classic big-name boxers to the current day name boxers. Would you personally like to see the Fight Night series make a return in time for the upcoming generation console launches this holiday season? For now, all we can do is wait and see just what EA Sports has in store for us next.
