Sony’s PlayStation 5 Official Website Is Now Live

February 4, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Unfortunately, it’s only the PS5 logo.

Sony and Microsoft are both gearing up to announce and release the next-generation video game platforms. Unfortunately, we don’t know just when either console platform will be revealed, but for now, we do know that both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be launching this holiday season. It’s a waiting game for both companies to see just when they will make the first reveal, but most recently, it seems that Sony is ready to start moving forward with the PlayStation 5 material by making the official PlayStation 5 webpage live.

Don’t get too excited just yet, as there’s nothing really unveiled in the official PlayStation 5 webpage. Instead, it’s just a logo of the PS5 along with an announcement that there are still more features to be revealed for the console platform at a later date. Again, no information has been given in terms of just when Sony will be holding a PlayStation 5 reveal event. Of course, with that said, there was news earlier today that suggested Sony will be holding out at least on the price for the console platform until Microsoft announces their Xbox Series X.

We’ve begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation. Sign up below to be among the first to receive updates as we announce them, including news on the PS5 release date, PS5 price and the upcoming roster of PS5 launch games.

If you recall the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 initial announcements during E3, Sony was able to come at $100 less than Microsoft’s console at the time and that could be the same case with the upcoming platform. Could making the webpage live mean that Sony will be delivering the PlayStation 5 news soon? It’s simply a waiting game for now, but we do know that both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are releasing this holiday season so we have plenty of time for both companies to make their announcements.

Once both consoles are announced, it will be interesting to see which platform gamers initially gravitate towards. There’s plenty of aspects that could make or break the console such as the price, hardware, features, and video game titles that will be readily available at launch. We know that in terms of first-party support, Microsoft will not have any Xbox Series X exclusives initially so that could already open up the door for Sony’s PS5.
