Battlefield 4 AEK-971 Guide

December 2, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Find out why this assault rifle is one of the best guns you could get in the game.

We have a feature on Battlefield 4’s AEK-971. Check out the video here and read our summary of the details below.

The AEK-971 is one of the best guns in the game, just behind the ACE-23 and ACWR. With their fast fire rates, they take down enemies up close quickly, but this power diminishes in range.

Now, this is typical of most short range guns, but the AEK-971 has one distinct advantage from practically all the other guns available. It can drop people at close range very very quickly. In as short as two seconds, you can unload all the bullets in your magazine.  It’s just behind the FAMAS when it comes to firing range, and is actually the second fastest assault rifle in the game.

Now, the AEK-971 also has a few advantages over the FAMAS, and chief among those is its added stability. This stability helps ensure you hit the targets you want to, whereas the FAMAS just sprays everywhere. Furthermore, the FAMAS only has a 25 round capacity magazine, while the AEK-971 has a 30 round capacity magazines. That five round difference can really make a difference, when you consider how quickly the AEK-971 can unload all those bullets. The FAMAS is also .02 seconds slower to reload than the AEK-971, and this can make the difference between staying alive and getting taken out.

On the flip side, the AEK-971’s biggest drawback is that its reload time is still slower than most other guns in its class. Because of its high fire rate, and comparatively low capacity, you will still be reloading a lot. You can get a lot of kills with it, but you will end up a sitting duck when that ammo runs out, and it does so fast. It also still has bad recoil, moving a bit to the right, so you can forget sniping.
