Turn 10 Promises To Turn Around Forza Motorsport 5 In Game Economy

November 28, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Turn 10 is not changing the microtransactions model, but claim to have heard the feedback and will be more liberal with cars and in-game credits.

Forza Motorsport 5 community manager Brian Eckberg has come up on the game’s official blog to explain they have heard the fans and will be enacting changes to the game’s pricing model.

In fact, Eckberg makes it a point to state that they are making changes based both on the direct feedback they have received and the numbers that they have seen.

Starting Black Friday, all cars are getting a 50 % discount, in credits and tokens alike. This discount ends on December 1, Sunday, so current players should avail of it as soon as they can.

Forza Motorsports 5 VIP members are getting the 2013 Lotus E21 Grand Prix car for free. This car is one of the most expensive and fastest cars available in the game. Members should allow for 24 hours or more for the gifting to be processed.

If you are a VIP member and you already bought the 2013 Lotus E21, you will then be getting the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. The same 24 hour processing period applies.

Players who purchased either the LaFerrari Car Pack or the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass, VIP members or not, will get the 2013 LaFerrari straight into their game garage.

Turn 10 is ramping up their Forza Rewards loyalty program, which gives players credits and cars for playing the game. The number of credits and cars they can get will be dramatically increased. People who own the game now are incentivized to play before December, because they can get better rewards with a higher Tier level.

This is not the end of it. Turn 10 is also correcting their error giving Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition players 1,250 in-game tokens, and stating this was enough value to buy any car in the game. Therefore, they will give those players the car of their choice. This offer is available until December 16.

Turn 10 promises further improvements to the Forza Motorsport 5 in-game economy down the line, but as of this moment, we still haven’t seen them commit to fundamental changes in how the game works. In spite of that, if players find that these changes are enough so they don’t feel pressured to buy anything, maybe it will work out.
