Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Blooming in February

November 21, 2013 by Josiah Renaudin

The latest plant-based experience from PopCap and EA will be hitting Xbox One and Xbox 360 in February.

Plants vs. Zombies will be much more than a free-to-play mobile product this February. Although the bread and butter of the series lies in tower defense, the third-person shooter version of the series powered by the stunning Frostbite 3 engine, titled "Garden Warfare," will be adding a unique flavor to the foliage battle early next year.

This Xbox One and Xbox 360 product will include 10 maps, three unique game modes, and up to 24 players in the Garden & Graveyards and Team Vanquish features. Think of it as another version of Team Fortress 2, expect instead of bullets and rockets littering the map, players will be shooting seeds and other garden-related weaponry.

There is a PC version in the works, but no date has been confirmed for it quite yet. What we do know is that EA and PopCap will be introducing this new branch to the wildly successful Plants vs. Zombies franchise Feb. 18 in North America, Feb. 20 in Europe, and Feb. 21 in the UK. Look for more information in the coming weeks.
